Fish in the Classroom
Fish in the Classroom is an educational project developed and delivered by Forth Rivers Trust. Anstruther Improvements Association (AIA) coordinates the delivery of the project for local schools in the East Neuk.
Students from both Anstruther Primary School and Pittenweem Primary School have taken part in the educational programme, thanks to the Dreel Burn Investment Readiness Partnership.
Students raise and nurture brown trout within their classroom environment over three months. This allows them to engage in learning activities about the importance of looking after their local river and surrounding environment.
The project finishes with an excursion for students to the Dreel Burn, to release their fish into the river.
