Anstruther Duck Race

Each year, on the Saturday before Easter, Anstruther Improvements Association (AIA) launches 1,000 numbered rubber ducks into the Dreel Burn in a race to the finish line.

The ducks are sponsored by members of the community, with local businesses donating prizes to provide a welcome way to fundraise for the charity. 

The prize-giving event, held after the race at the AIA’s home, Dreel Halls, includes an Easter bonnet competition for all ages and prize-giving for a ‘Design a Duck’ colouring competition. 

The annual duck race is a much-loved and widely-anticipated community celebration, supported by local people and visitors to the East Neuk.
